Conference AV on the Gold Coast, and what we supply instead
Searches for conference AV on the Gold Coast are usually looking for the room: the PA, the screens, the lighting and the technician who runs them. CFA supplies none of that. We are the video crew — cameras, a feed taken from whoever is on the AV desk, the edit, and the finished files afterwards. The two are separate quotes from separate suppliers, and both are normally on site.

Multi-day and residential programs
A two or three-day residential conference produces more usable video than a single-day event, provided the running order reaches us before the week of it. Arrival-day welcomes and departure-day wrap-ups are short but they bookend the highlight film. Plenaries and concurrent breakouts are the bulk of the recording, and every room filmed simultaneously needs its own operator and kit. Awards presentations and gala dinners are their own job: a dark room, a long presentation, and movement between tables that a locked-off camera will miss.
Tell us which parts of the social program are in scope when you send the dates. Days filmed consecutively attract discounted rates, so a three-day program does not cost three times a one-day one, and the highlight film gets substantially better material when the crew is there for the social sessions as well as the plenaries.
Outdoor, terrace and marquee sessions
Outdoor sessions are the one genuinely Gold Coast variable, and wind is the problem rather than light. A lapel microphone on a terrace picks up every gust, so outdoor speaking spots need audio planned rather than assumed — ideally a feed from whatever PA is set up, and a backup recorder on the speaker. Where there is no PA outdoors at all, the audio requirement is raised with you and quoted before the day.
Light outdoors is mostly a question of timing and direction. A midday session on an unshaded lawn is harsh and high-contrast; the same spot at 4pm is the best image of the event. Where the program is fixed and the sun is not helping, the camera position moves to put the speaker against shade rather than sky. Marquees sit between the two: shaded, but with bright edges that need the camera kept away from the open sides.

Multi-day programs are where the pricing matters most here, and consecutive days are discounted against the program rather than charged as repeated single days. The starting figures are the same four fixed packages as everywhere else: $2,100+GST for one camera operator across four hours on site, and $2,700+GST for a full eight-hour day, both including slide sync and speaker videos edited within 24 hours.
A residential program with concurrent rooms and a dinner usually sits in the upper two tiers. $6,800+GST adds a second videographer for b-roll and keynote interviews, a highlight reel, and ownership of every frame captured. From $9,000+GST, multiple operators or multiple rooms across several days come with a delegate portal.
